Hairline and Frontal Forelock Reconstruction 1923 FU Grafts, 11 months post op.
Patient is a 53 YO male with MPHL affecting the crown, midscalp and hairline/frontal forelock areas.
Patient has donor density a bit below average at 60 FU/cm2. Patient would like to restore his frontal hairline so that he no longer has to deal with the isolated frontal tuft seen in the pre-op photos. FUE as a donor harvest would certainly leave the donor quite thin and cosmetically unacceptable due to the pre-existing low density. Strip Excision was chosen as 1) The post op result in the donor would not feature global thinning, and, 2) Further surgeries could be performed via Strip Excision wherein each successive donor strip will contain the previous line, so that there is minimal cosmetic detriment in the donor area.
1923 total FU’s were used: 445 1 hair FU’s, 1,128 2 hair Fu’s, and 350 3 hair FU’s. Results shown are at the 11 month point.
