Example 2

This gentleman shows an example of two sessions of grafts into the crown. The total grafts which included a combination of micrografts/follicular unit grafts and minigrafts numbered 2100 over the two session.

As noted with the thumbnail, this gentleman received two sessions (totalling 2100 grafts) six months apart to achieve the noted density. The general rule generally holds true: "high density grafted with either minigrafts, micrografts/follicular unit grafts, or a combination of the two will result in a density of 40% for #1 session and a 75% dense appearance following two session." By this I mean that if we started with completely bald scalp, the result after one session will be a "see-through appearance" that would approach what most of us would call "thick" after doubling the density one and a half times again. After two sessions the resulting density is considered adequate by almost everybody, but it is still not quite "dense". I would consider this scalp transplant an example of this two session/ 75% density. Of course this is an over-simplification because it does not take into account the hair characteristics or hair length as discussed elsewhere. Look at the other examples of transplantation which intentionally have varying hair characteristics, scalp location and styling to see how one and two session density varies with these considerations.
